What language were Pérez & Magnus speaking at the end of the episode? Also, isnt Magnus a Swedish name, not a Scottish one? You also have to remember that Bain is a recluse, so his social skills are a bit lacking, that perhaps no one has ever apologized to him before and instead of a conventional acceptance of that apology, he chose to simply change the subject and what better way than to ask "Where are you from?" something people who just met often ask. IOW, starting fresh instead of dwelling on the past. (I just realized this is from June 2017, I'm a bit late to the party.) It was just an exchange of shared respect, what Magnus asked him when they first met. Where someone is from among the islands is important to the natives of the islands. Magnus didn't seem to suffer from dementia or Alzheimers. Is there a specific Cultural context of that question? For example in Taiwan, one very old cultural greeting is essentially asking someone if they've eaten. Is this a similar greeting, or show of acceptance (as regards Perez's Spanish side)?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11212326216382701050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720263965124283569.post-67783194028511647912017-06-29T04:44:47.320+01:002017-06-29T04:44:47.320+01:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11212326216382701050noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6720263965124283569.post-8919174850192380092017-05-28T21:24:16.089+01:002017-05-28T21:24:16.089+01:00"Where are you from?"
